Robert Harden

Dr. Robert Harden - Texas Psychiatrist Committed to Mental Health Care

Dr. Robert Harden is a psychiatrist with more than three decades of experience providing mental health care to children, adolescents, and adults. He currently serves with Compassionate Psychiatric Services in Frisco, Texas, evaluating mental health conditions for patients and supervising mental health care providers to ensure proper patient care. Dr. Robert Harden is a member of both the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the Texas Society of Psychiatric Physicians.

Dr. Robert Harden completed his general psychiatry residency in 1987 and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry in 1989 at Timberlawn Psychiatric Hospital. He then built a private practice in Dallas, treating patients across a range of psychiatric conditions. In 1995, Dr. Robert Harden moved to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Plano. He held leadership and clinical roles at the hospital including executive medical director of child and adolescent services and vice chairman of the Department of Psychiatry. Later on, he worked as psychiatrist provider/president of Plano Psychiatric.

Over his career, Dr. Robert Harden has received honors including the American Psychiatric Association’s Life Fellowship Award, the Sol W. Ginsberg Fellowship, and the Champion of Excellence Award (Presbyterian Hospital of Plano). He earned his MD at Meharry Medical College in 1979 followed by an internship at Weiss Memorial Hospital in Chicago. Dr. Robert Harden subsequently served with the U.S. Public Health Service at a community health clinic in Greenville before working in emergency medicine at Primacare Physicians. He began his psychiatric training at Timberlawn Psychiatric Hospital in 1984.
